Federal Judge Stops Kennedy’s CDC Panel Shake-Up

A federal judge has temporarily blocked major vaccine policy changes introduced by U.S. Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., ruling that the process bypassed established legal procedures.

According to the court order, U.S. District Judge Brian E. Murphy said the overhaul of the childhood vaccine schedule failed to follow required steps and “undermined the integrity” of federal decision-making.

The report said the changes would have forced doctors to spend additional time explaining new guidelines to patients.

The judge also blocked Kennedy’s move to replace the CDC’s vaccine advisory panel, stating the new committee lacked sufficient expertise. The panel’s scheduled meeting has now been postponed, reported by CNN.

The Trump administration pushed back, calling the ruling judicial overreach and signaling plans to appeal.

Medical groups that filed the lawsuit welcomed the decision, arguing that vaccine recommendations must remain grounded in scientific evidence and long-standing review processes.
