A Miami Beach man has been arrested on attempted murder charges after authorities accused him of cutting off a diver's air supply during Florida's recreational Lobster Sport Season.
According to investigators, the incident occurred on July 29 in Biscayne Bay following a dispute between two groups over a popular lobster diving location.
The report said the confrontation began when one boat approached another at high speed near Fisher Island, leading to a verbal argument over the diving spot.
During a court hearing, a judge reduced Simpson's charge from attempted felony murder to second-degree attempted murder and set bond at $10,000.
Simpson's family denied the allegations, saying he never interfered with the diver's equipment and intends to contest the charges in court.
