Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier has filed a motion seeking a temporary injunction against OpenAI as part of the state’s lawsuit over alleged risks associated with ChatGPT.
The state’s June lawsuit accused OpenAI of misleading consumers about the safety of its AI chatbot, including its use by minors.
The filing also cites incidents involving alleged cyber activity and data exposure as part of the state’s broader arguments about AI safety.
OpenAI has disputed the allegations and has said it has safeguards designed to prevent its models from facilitating harmful activities. The Florida case is part of a growing number of legal challenges concerning AI companies and potential harms involving minors.
