Ford Motor Company is recalling nearly 388,000 Explorer and Aviator SUVs because a defect in the second-row seats could cause them to unlatch, tip or slide unexpectedly, increasing the risk of injury during a crash.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the recall affects certain 2020-2027 Aviator and 2020-2026 Explorer models.
The report said Ford had received 14 reports of unintended seat movement while vehicles were being driven as of June 16.
Owners are advised to take their vehicles to authorized dealerships, where the defective seat bezel will be inspected and replaced free of charge. Notification letters will begin reaching affected owners on July 27.
