The transfer follows a private two-day meeting last week between Maxwell and Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche at the U.S. attorney’s office in Tallahassee. Her lawyer said she “honestly answered every question” during the closed-door session.
Maxwell, sentenced in 2022 for grooming underage girls for Epstein, is still appealing her conviction, including to the Supreme Court.
The move comes amid renewed public interest in the Epstein investigation, especially after the Justice Department declined to release further evidence.
Maxwell has signaled interest in cooperating with the government, even offering to testify before Congress if granted immunity and advance access to questions.
