Grand Jury Subpoenas James Comey’s Friend In Leak Probe

A federal grand jury has subpoenaed Daniel Richman, a longtime friend and adviser to former FBI Director James Comey, as the Justice Department revisits allegations that sensitive information was improperly shared with the media, according to CNN.

The investigation centers on memos Comey wrote about meetings with President Donald Trump during his first administration. Prosecutors previously examined the alleged leak but did not bring charges.

The move marks another legal challenge involving Comey, a prominent Trump critic. Comey currently faces charges related to a social media post featuring the number “8647,” which prosecutors interpreted as a reference to removing Trump from office.

A separate case accusing him of making false statements to Congress was dismissed by a judge last year. CNN said it contacted Richman for comment.
