Iran-aligned Houthi forces claimed another ballistic missile attack on Saudi Arabia’s King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh on Thursday, while the Saudi-led coalition said it intercepted two missiles launched toward the capital.
Houthi military spokesman Yahya Saree claimed the missile hit its target and disrupted airport operations. If confirmed, it would mark the group’s fourth reported attempt to target the airport this week.
The attacks come as Yemen’s civil war has reignited, with Houthi forces making territorial gains near the Red Sea while Saudi-backed forces launch counterattacks. The renewed conflict has displaced about 200,000 people.
Saudi Arabia is seeking support from allies. Turkey is providing mainly defensive assistance, while Pakistan has supplied military equipment and deployed troops to help protect Saudi territory. Syria is also considering possible defensive support.
