ICE Agent Shoots And Wounds Person During New York Operation

A person was shot and wounded during an operation involving federal immigration agents in New York City’s Marble Hill neighborhood at about 4 p.m., according to police.

Preliminary information indicates that an Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent fired at the individual while they were inside a grey vehicle near West 225th Street and Marble Hill Avenue.

The person remained conscious after the shooting and was taken to a local hospital with injuries described as non-life-threatening.

The New York Police Department confirmed that its officers were not present when the shots were fired and were not involved in the incident.

An FBI Evidence Response Team was sent to the scene to assist the Department of Homeland Security with the investigation. New York Gov. Kathy Hochul called for a full and transparent account of the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
