While India’s overall military capability significantly exceeds Pakistan's, the two forces have similar nuclear capabilities.
Two weeks after a deadly militant attack targeting tourists in Indian-administered Kashmir, India has launched a series of strikes on locations within Pakistan and Pakistan-administered Kashmir.
Pakistan, which has denied any involvement in the attack, condemned the strikes as “unprovoked.” Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif stated that the “heinous act of aggression will not go unpunished.”
The two nuclear-armed neighbors have steadily enhanced their military capabilities since their last major clash in 2019. While India possesses a significantly larger conventional military force, both countries are considered to have comparable nuclear arsenals.
