Iran Says US Must Decide Whether To End Seven-Month War

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said Washington must decide whether to end the seven-month war, as fighting continued across the Middle East and China pushed for de-escalation.

Saudi authorities said the Houthis launched dozens of missiles and drones toward Saudi targets, with six ballistic missiles intercepted. Emergency alerts were issued in several cities.

The conflict has also disrupted energy markets. Reuters reported that vessel traffic through the Strait of Hormuz, a major global oil route, fell sharply.

Diplomatic efforts are now linked to President Donald Trump’s talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping. China’s Middle East envoy Zhai Jun said their discussions included the conflict and could help reduce tensions.

Iranian officials have indicated the Strait could reopen within seven days if Washington eases its naval blockade.
