Negotiations between Iran and the United States over Tehran’s nuclear program are at a “very crucial” stage, according to Rafael Grossi, head of the UN’s International Atomic Energy Agency. The two countries are set to meet in Rome on Saturday for a new round of talks, following initial discussions in Oman last weekend.

Speaking during a visit to Iran, where he met with Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, Grossi expressed cautious optimism, emphasizing the need to focus on positive progress. “There is a possibility of a good outcome,” he said, but warned that success depends on ensuring all key elements are in place. The talks aim to revive efforts to limit Iran’s nuclear activities in exchange for sanctions relief.
