Iran is looking to strengthen diplomatic support from China ahead of high-level talks between U.S. President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping in Beijing.

Iranian Ambassador Abdulreza Rahmani Fazli said Tehran’s long-term partnership with Beijing provides “strategic diplomatic depth” against American pressure.

According to Iranian state media, he said China could help communicate Iran’s demands for a lasting ceasefire, an end to the U.S. blockade, and recognition of Tehran’s rights during the Trump-Xi summit.

The report said Iran’s foreign minister recently visited Beijing as diplomacy surrounding the war intensified.

Meanwhile, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth told lawmakers that the ceasefire remains in effect despite tensions. He also said the U.S. military remains prepared for possible action if negotiations fail and insisted American munitions stockpiles remain sufficient for current operations.
