Israel has agreed to the latest Gaza ceasefire and hostage release proposal, citing stronger U.S. guarantees on ending the war, an Israeli official confirmed Wednesday.

President Donald Trump said the deal includes a 60-day truce and humanitarian aid via UN-run channels. The plan was presented by Qatar and Egypt and shaped by Trump’s envoy Steve Witkoff.

While Israel's Ron Dermer accepted the terms in Washington, and Foreign Minister Gideon Saar said Israel is “serious” about a deal, Hamas has not yet confirmed its position. Trump posted that Qatar and Egypt will deliver the final proposal.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will convene his Cabinet Saturday before meeting Trump in Washington on Monday. Though some sources say Israel hasn’t formally approved the terms, Trump expressed optimism: “I think we’ll have a deal next week.”

The proposal follows months of negotiations and comes amid hopes for a phased hostage-prisoner exchange.
