Israel launched airstrikes on Iranian government targets in Tehran Monday, including Evin Prison and a Revolutionary Guards headquarters, following a U.S. attack on Iran’s nuclear sites the day before. The Israeli military also confirmed hitting roads near the Fordo enrichment facility to block access.

The U.S. struck Fordo, Natanz, and Isfahan on Sunday using bunker-buster bombs. The IAEA expects “very significant damage” to Fordo, according to Director General Rafael Grossi. Iran claimed nuclear materials were removed ahead of the attack.

Iran responded with a missile barrage targeting Tel Aviv, Haifa, and Jerusalem, in what it called the next phase of “Operation True Promise 3.”

Tensions spiked globally, with EU officials warning of the risk of escalation and urging diplomacy. Iran warned the U.S. of consequences, calling the strikes a violation of sovereignty.

President Donald Trump has said more U.S. strikes could follow if Iran continues retaliation.
