Vice President JD Vance is taking a prominent role in the Republican Party’s effort to rebuild support among millennials and Gen Z voters ahead of the midterm elections, according to Axios.

Speaking at the GOP convention in Dallas, Vance emphasized family, patriotism and the importance of having children, while sharply criticizing Democrats. The report said young voters, particularly men, were important to President Donald Trump’s 2024 victory but have since shown weaker support.

Vance also highlighted his position as the first millennial vice president and spoke about raising four young children. He urged voters to focus on the administration’s accomplishments, including efforts to reduce prescription drug costs.

However, economic pressures remain a major challenge. Oil prices have topped $100 a barrel, diesel costs are elevated and mortgage rates are rising. The administration’s handling of the Iran conflict has also contributed to voter dissatisfaction, according to the report.

Trump and Vance are expected to campaign for dozens of congressional and Senate candidates before the November 3 elections.
