Right-wing commentator Laura Loomer met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Thursday during a visit to Ukraine, marking a significant shift from her previous views on the Russia-Ukraine war.
According to the report, Loomer acknowledged that her perspective had changed after witnessing the conflict firsthand.
The report said Loomer visited the Dormition Cathedral at Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, which was damaged in a recent attack.
She also claimed to have seen evidence of atrocities attributed to Russian forces, including the graves of civilians and clergy in Bucha.
Loomer's visit could carry political significance in Washington because of her close ties to President Donald Trump. She warned that the dangers she witnessed in Ukraine should serve as a broader warning about the consequences of armed conflict.
