The murder trial of Lindsay Clancy resumed on Monday in Massachusetts as prosecutors continued presenting evidence to support their claim that she was legally responsible for the deaths of her three children in January 2023.

According to testimony presented last week, Patrick Clancy returned to the family's Duxbury home to find the couple's children, Cora, Dawson and Callan, dead after his wife had asked him to run errands.

Prosecutors are seeking to establish that the killings were premeditated or carried out with extreme cruelty.

The report said Clancy's defense argues she was suffering from postpartum psychosis and lacked criminal responsibility at the time of the deaths.

Defense attorneys contend she experienced severe mental illness and had been prescribed multiple psychiatric medications in the months leading up to the incident.

Conflicting testimony from psychiatric experts is expected to play a central role in the case. According to legal observers, the jury's assessment of Clancy's mental state could determine the trial's outcome.
