A Maryland man has been charged with second-degree murder following the death of another man who was allegedly pushed into Baltimore's Inner Harbor after an altercation.
According to the report, 36-year-old James Fitzsimmons was arrested on Monday in connection with the death of 37-year-old James Britt.
Charging documents state that after being told the victim could not swim, Fitzsimmons allegedly responded, "Oh well" before leaving the scene.
Baltimore Fire Department dive crews recovered Britt from the water on August 2 and transported him to a nearby trauma centre, where he was later pronounced dead.
According to the report, Fitzsimmons is being held at the Central Booking Intake Facility and faces charges including second-degree murder, manslaughter and assault. He is scheduled to appear in court on August 27 as the investigation continues.
