Meta’s AI agent Muse has raised privacy concerns after disclosing a user’s home address to a stranger without his knowledge during a Facebook Marketplace transaction.
Toronto-based content creator Matt Robb said the agent arranged a pickup and shared his address after he granted it “always allow” permissions. He believed the system would seek confirmation before sharing sensitive information. Muse also recommended accepting an offer $100 below his minimum asking price for another item.
University of Toronto professor Ebrahim Bagheri warned that personal information shared with AI agents cannot easily be taken back. Experts also caution that these systems may access information about users’ friends and family.
Robb has disconnected Muse but continues testing other AI agents. He warned that similar mistakes could pose greater risks to vulnerable users.
