Micron Technology has announced plans to invest $10 billion over the next decade to establish a major research and innovation center at its headquarters in Boise, Idaho.
The facility, called Micron Research Labs, will be the company’s first dedicated U.S. memory research hub of its kind.
Construction is expected to begin in 2027, with the center eventually housing hundreds of researchers. Micron plans to collaborate with universities, government agencies, startups and technology companies on advanced semiconductor research.
The investment adds to Micron’s broader commitment to expanding semiconductor manufacturing and research in the United States.
The company has previously pledged more than $250 billion toward domestic production and research and development, reflecting the growing importance of advanced memory technology to the AI industry.
