At least two people have died and more than 800,000 homes and businesses have lost power after a powerful storm system swept across several parts of the U.S. Midwest.
According to the report, the storms brought suspected tornadoes, damaging winds and heavy rainfall to Illinois, Indiana, Ohio and Kentucky.
The report said one of the fatalities was a four-year-old child in Indiana who was killed by a falling tree.
Strong winds also brought down transmission lines and utility poles, leaving widespread areas without electricity and creating additional hazards for residents and emergency workers.
Severe weather also disrupted air travel, with major airports in Chicago temporarily grounding flights and reporting hundreds of cancellations and delays.
Authorities continued to warn residents about dangerous conditions, including flash flooding, unstable debris and downed power lines.
The report said further severe weather remained possible as recovery and rescue operations continued across the affected states.
