President Donald Trump launched a scathing attack on Elon Musk in a lengthy Truth Social post, accusing the Tesla CEO of “going off the rails” and flirting with starting a third political party.
Trump warned such efforts would lead to “disruption and chaos,” and praised Republicans for passing what he called “the biggest Bill of its kind” in U.S. history.
He also criticized Musk for previously endorsing him while allegedly supporting the now-terminated Electric Vehicle mandate. Trump claimed Musk expressed no objections at the time and also lobbied to have a Democrat appointed to lead NASA, which Trump called “inappropriate.”
Musk responded with a viral internet meme that read: “i ain’t reading all that. i’m happy for u tho. or sorry that happened.”
