Mexican naval forces dismantled a hidden drug laboratory in the Durango region, seizing more than 5,000 pounds of methamphetamine and large quantities of chemical precursors, according to CBS News.
Video released by Mexico’s navy showed personnel in protective gear inspecting containers, tanks, and vessels across the illicit site. Authorities said the lab’s infrastructure was disabled to prevent reuse. Officials estimated the value of the drugs and materials seized at more than $265 million.

The raid comes as Mexico intensifies operations against powerful drug cartels. Authorities have uncovered multiple clandestine labs in recent months, including major meth seizures in Sinaloa and Michoacán.
The crackdown follows a military operation that killed Nemesio Rubén Oseguera Cervantes, known as El Mencho, head of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel. His death sparked violent retaliation, including roadblocks and flight disruptions.
A source told CBS News the lab raid reflected expanded U.S.-Mexico intelligence cooperation under President Claudia Sheinbaum, with American intelligence support but no U.S. personnel on the ground.
