Pakistan Reaffirms Unconditional Security Commitment To Saudi Arabia

The statement comes amid Houthi attacks and growing attention on new defense arrangements between Islamabad and Riyadh

Pakistan has pledged to defend Saudi Arabia against any aggression, with military spokesman Lt. Gen. Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry describing Islamabad’s commitment as unconditional.

Speaking to Saudi state-backed Arab News, Chaudhry said Pakistan supports the kingdom both diplomatically and militarily. He specifically cited the protection of Saudi Arabia and Islam’s two holiest sites in Mecca and Medina.

The statement comes amid Houthi attacks and growing attention on new defense arrangements between Islamabad and Riyadh. Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Turkey signed the Mecca Joint Defense Agreement last month, while Pakistan and Saudi Arabia also maintain a bilateral defense pact.

According to the report, Chaudhry did not say whether Riyadh had requested additional Pakistani troops or air-defense systems. The detailed operational terms of the agreements have not been publicly disclosed.
