Prosecutors have begun presenting their case against Tyler Robinson, who is accused of murdering conservative activist Charlie Kirk in September 2025.
According to the report, a five-day preliminary hearing opened in Utah's Fourth District Court, where prosecutors are seeking to establish sufficient evidence for the case to proceed toward trial.
The report said investigators will present DNA evidence linking Robinson to the alleged murder weapon, surveillance footage, autopsy findings, and testimony from witnesses.
Charlie Kirk's widow, Erika Kirk, is attending the proceedings alongside other family members. According to the report, she publicly expressed forgiveness for the accused following her husband's death.
President Donald Trump has said he hopes Robinson receives the death penalty. Kirk was the co-founder of Turning Point USA and a prominent conservative voice.
