Russian President Vladimir Putin has ordered another expansion of the country’s armed forces, raising the number of active servicemen by 15,500 as the war in Ukraine continues.
A decree published Monday puts Russia’s total armed forces at 2.44 million personnel, including 1.55 million active troops. It is the fourth such expansion order this year. The Kremlin did not provide a reason for the increase.
According to Zelensky, Moscow is providing technological assistance to North Korea in return, including support for producing Shahed-type attack drones.
Putin previously thanked North Korean leader Kim Jong Un for sending troops to support Russia.
Meanwhile, Russian attacks on Kyiv killed two people and injured 26 on Monday, according to Mayor Vitali Klitschko. Peace talks remain stalled as the conflict continues into another winter.
