Steve Witkoff, special envoy for the Trump administration, revealed that Russian President Vladimir Putin prayed for Donald Trump at a local church in Moscow after an assassination attempt during the 2024 election campaign. Speaking on former Fox News host Tucker Carlson’s podcast, Witkoff shared that Putin told him about the incident during a meeting in Moscow.
Witkoff, who has visited Russia twice for Ukraine conflict negotiations, also mentioned that Trump was “touched” by Putin’s gesture. Meanwhile, U.S. and Russian officials are set to resume talks in Saudi Arabia next week, with Putin expressing openness to a 30-day ceasefire, contingent on resolving the underlying causes of the conflict.
