During a surprise, unofficial visit to Florida on Saturday, Finnish President Alexander Stubb and U.S. President Donald Trump played golf, had breakfast, and discussed pressing global issues, including the war in Ukraine. Stubb, a recent NATO member and strong supporter of Ukraine, shared concerns about Russian President Vladimir Putin’s willingness to adhere to a ceasefire agreement.

Both Trump and Senator Lindsey Graham praised Stubb's golf skills. Stubb, who met Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy earlier this month, expressed interest in becoming a European envoy for Ukraine. Trump, in a statement on Truth Social, highlighted their mutual goals of enhancing security and cooperation, especially in Arctic matters, and underscored the importance of icebreaker technology in global geopolitics.
