Iran is expected to receive up to 400 Chinese-made shoulder-launched missile systems within weeks, according to a report that says the purchase is intended to strengthen the country's short-range air defenses.
The reported deal comes as Tehran seeks to reinforce military and strategic sites following months of conflict involving the United States and Israel.
The report said the contract, valued at between $60 million and $70 million, was arranged through a Hong Kong-based intermediary and includes QW-12 and FN-16 missile systems designed for rapid deployment around sensitive installations.
President Donald Trump has warned that U.S. military strikes could resume if negotiations fail to produce a lasting resolution, while Iran is reportedly exploring overland delivery routes to reduce potential disruptions.
