Roommate Testifies Charlie Kirk Shooting Suspect Expressed Regret

Prosecutors presented testimony that Tyler Robinson admitted to fatally shooting Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk and later expressed regret, according to the report.

During a Utah court hearing, recordings of Robinson's roommate and romantic partner, Lance Twiggs, were played in which he said Robinson confessed after the September 2025 shooting at Utah Valley University.

The report said Judge Tony Graf has limited the public release of certain evidence, ruling that portions must remain sealed to protect the rights of both the victims and the defendant.

The Kirk family's attorney argued that greater transparency would strengthen public confidence in the judicial process.

According to the report, prosecutors also relied on DNA evidence linking Robinson to the alleged murder weapon.

A forensic expert defended the testing as the "gold standard" in criminal investigations after defense attorneys questioned its reliability.
