Prosecutors presented testimony that Tyler Robinson admitted to fatally shooting Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk and later expressed regret, according to the report.
During a Utah court hearing, recordings of Robinson's roommate and romantic partner, Lance Twiggs, were played in which he said Robinson confessed after the September 2025 shooting at Utah Valley University.
The Kirk family's attorney argued that greater transparency would strengthen public confidence in the judicial process.
According to the report, prosecutors also relied on DNA evidence linking Robinson to the alleged murder weapon.
A forensic expert defended the testing as the "gold standard" in criminal investigations after defense attorneys questioned its reliability.
Judge Graf is expected to decide whether the prosecution has presented enough evidence for the aggravated murder case to proceed to trial.
