Russia launched a large-scale drone and missile assault on Ukraine overnight, killing civilians and forcing emergency power cuts across multiple regions, Ukrainian officials said.
Ukraine’s air force said Russia fired 635 drones and 38 missiles. Most were intercepted, but impacts were reported at 21 locations. The attack was the largest combined strike since early December and one of the biggest of the war so far.

The strike came as US-backed diplomatic talks continue. Zelenskyy said the timing showed Moscow’s unwillingness to pursue peace and urged allies to increase air defense and military support.
Ukraine also carried out drone strikes inside Russia, briefly disrupting airports and causing limited damage, Russian officials said.
