Former CIA Director David Petraeus was at a Ukrainian train station when a Russian drone struck a passenger train near the Polish border on Sunday, according to CNN.
Ukrainian Railways said the drone may have deliberately targeted the officials’ train, although authorities were still investigating. Russia’s Defense Ministry said its forces were targeting railway infrastructure used to transport military supplies from Europe.
The attack has raised concerns about Russia’s expanding strikes near NATO territory. Ukrainian and European officials condemned the incident as a broader security threat.
The report said Russia has intensified attacks around Yahodyn, a key route for Western aid entering Ukraine. The incident follows a recent Russian drone incursion into Moldovan airspace, further fueling concerns about the conflict spreading beyond Ukraine.
