‘Sassy’ Republican Congressman’s New Look Makes Waves

Glow-up: it’s one of the LGBT crew’s favorite new terms. A riff on “grow up,” the term typically refers to a nerdy gay kid who eventually comes out of the closet as a teen or young adult, and consequently “glows up” with new style and confidence. Yet the principle applies equally to one of MAGA’s favorite Congressmen.

Ditching the glasses and donning a new cropped haircut, 5 o’clock shadow, and a more refined masculine style, Congressman Thomas Massie used his 54th birthday to debut his sudden glow-up. And with 1.3 million views in just over 24 hours, X users are noticing.

“Looking lean,” replied one X user, “good to see you’re taking care of yourself.”

Another user playfully teased Massie for his own self-deprecating quip about aging, rightfully pointing out that “this is what the kids call a glow-up.”

“I actually thought you were about a decade younger than me but it seems we are about the same age,” noted another.

Another was more blunt with a “You look great!” while someone else even photoshopped a heavier beard on the original photo to help the glow-up continue.

Perhaps sassiest of all: “It’s a good thing men age like wine,” one man chimed in.

That’s fitting for the self-proclaimed “Sassy Massie.” The Congressman has tried to make this nickname stick for quite a while on X. It certainly fits his personality as one of the most outspoken conservatives in Congress both on and offline, but it becomes a harder sell in out-dated glasses and a dorky, oversized dad-fit.  Yet with the new glow-up, it seems to be finally catching on; there’s already a Sassy Massie shirt for sale. Who knows where Massive can go from here?

This hearkens back to the vice presidential debate in October, when now Vice President-elect JD Vance made Gay Twitter swoon with his steel blue eyes and coquettish charm. I predicted at the time this could help the Trump ticket lock in the gay vote, a prediction that ultimately didn’t pan out. However, it can’t hurt to give it another college try.

Just wait ’til Gay America gets a look at Massie’s transformation. If there’s one thing they can’t resist, it’s a good old fashioned glow-up!

It’s Time To Save Standard Time

The debate is not whether to stop changing the clocks every March and November. Most people, including members of Congress and Secretary of State Marco Rubio, despise the biannual switch. It’s which “version” of time to keep.
