Scientists have captured the most detailed images ever recorded of the Sun's surface, revealing previously unseen features that could improve understanding of solar activity and space weather.

According to the report, the findings were published in the journal Nature using observations from the National Science Foundation's Daniel K. Inouye Solar Telescope in Hawaii.

The report said researchers initially used the telescope to test its performance but instead discovered intricate whirlpool-like structures and feathery wave patterns across the Sun's outer layer that had never been observed with such clarity.
