SEC Moves Against LSU As Roster Dispute Intensifies

The Southeastern Conference (SEC) could vote Thursday on whether to expel Louisiana State University (LSU) as a member, according to a federal court filing cited by CNN. The dispute centers on LSU’s decision to potentially use two players with recent professional football experience.

A Louisiana court ruled last week that LSU could allow Dae’Quan Wright and Zxavian Harris to play despite their participation in NFL training camps. Neither appeared in LSU’s recent game against Clemson, but the school has reportedly kept roster spots open for them.

The SEC said LSU’s actions undermine conference rules and could cause further harm. The conference is seeking a temporary restraining order allowing it to enforce its professionalism rules while the legal dispute continues.
