A public feud between conservative commentators Ben Shapiro and Tucker Carlson erupted Thursday at Turning Point USA’s annual youth conference, highlighting growing divisions within President Donald Trump’s political movement.
Shapiro accused Carlson and others of misleading audiences and promoting conspiracies, sharply criticizing Carlson for interviewing white nationalist Nick Fuentes.
Shapiro called the interview morally irresponsible and warned that tolerating extremism damages the conservative movement.
Tucker Carlson totally upstaged Ben Shapiro—very mature, well articulated response after Shapiro called for Tucker to be denounced on AmFest stage. Really poor use of his platform. That’s not what Charlie would’ve wanted. We’re better than this.pic.twitter.com/g0x7Edonnu

Carlson responded hours later from the same stage, mocking Shapiro’s remarks and rejecting calls to “deplatform” controversial figures. He dismissed claims of a civil war within MAGA and argued that disputes reflect jockeying for influence after Trump leaves office.
The clash overshadowed efforts to honor Turning Point founder Charlie Kirk, who was assassinated in September. His widow, Erika Kirk, warned that internal fractures threaten party unity.
The dispute reflects broader Republican tensions over antisemitism, free speech, and America First priorities ahead of challenging midterm elections.
