A tornado swept through parts of eastern Wisconsin on Monday, causing significant damage to homes, businesses and infrastructure while leaving thousands of residents without electricity.
According to the report, the twister touched down in Winnebago County before moving across Lake Winnebago toward neighbouring Fond du Lac County.
The National Weather Service had issued a destructive severe thunderstorm warning before the tornado developed.
A downed transmission line cut power across the entire city of Menasha, affecting about 18,000 residents.
Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers said the state was prepared to provide assistance, while local police urged people to remain indoors and avoid closed roads as emergency crews responded.
According to the report, severe weather is expected to continue across parts of Wisconsin, with forecasters warning of damaging winds exceeding 60 mph, large hail and the possibility of additional isolated tornadoes.
