President Donald Trump announced a new partnership with prominent law firm Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft LLP, committing the firm to provide at least $100 million in pro bono legal services during his administration and beyond. The initiative will support causes both Trump and Cadwalader endorse, including assistance for veterans, law enforcement, and first responders, promoting justice system fairness, and combatting antisemitism.

Cadwalader also pledged to uphold merit-based hiring and avoid what Trump called “illegal DEI discrimination,” ensuring political neutrality in employment practices. The firm committed not to deny legal representation to politically disenfranchised clients or government officials due to political bias.

The White House said the agreement reflects a shared goal to “end the weaponization of the justice system.” Cadwalader’s Managing Partner Patrick Quinn praised the deal, calling it consistent with the firm’s core principles and beneficial for clients, employees, and the broader legal profession.
