A high-level U.S. trade delegation will meet with Chinese officials in London on Monday, June 9, to discuss implementation of the recently finalized trade deal, President Donald Trump announced on Truth Social.

The delegation will include Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick, and U.S. Trade Representative Ambassador Jamieson Greer. Trump said he expects the talks to “go very well.”
The announcement follows a phone call between Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping, which both leaders described as positive. Trump said they discussed “some of the intricacies” of the trade deal, while Xi emphasized the need to “enhance consensus” and “reduce misunderstanding.”
Trump noted that Xi invited him to visit China, and that he had extended a reciprocal invitation. Xi called for “dialogue and cooperation” as the path forward for both countries.
The London meeting marks the first major diplomatic engagement since the agreement was reached.
