Trump Considers Moving White House Press Corps To Another Building

President Donald Trump is considering relocating the White House press corps to another building, potentially intensifying tensions between his administration and news organisations, according to two people familiar with the discussions who spoke to CBS News. No final decision has been made.

The proposal comes after repeated disputes over journalists’ access to the White House. Last month, a federal judge reinstated press credentials for CNN, MS NOW and Politico after the administration temporarily blocked their access, finding the restrictions likely violated constitutional protections and due process.

The administration has also faced criticism over restrictions involving other news organisations. Trump previously considered moving reporters during his first term but abandoned the proposal.

White House journalists have maintained dedicated workspaces inside the building for more than a century.
