President Donald Trump said Monday he had a “very good and productive” phone call with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, covering a wide range of global issues including the Russia-Ukraine war, Syria, and the conflict in Gaza.
In a Truth Social post, Trump said Erdoğan invited him to visit Turkey “at a future date” and would also come to Washington. “During my four years as President, my relationship with President Erdoğan was excellent,” Trump wrote. “I look forward to working with him on getting the ridiculous, but deadly, War between Russia and Ukraine.

Turkey has played a key role in past negotiations related to Ukraine and Gaza, and Trump’s outreach to Erdoğan comes amid increasing calls for ceasefire and regional stability.
