Trump Halts Strikes And Claims An Iran Deal, But Tehran Holds Back

The president says the framework is approved and a signing is days away, though Iran insists nothing is final and the blockade stays.

President Trump said he called off planned strikes on Iran on Thursday, claiming the framework for a deal had been approved by all parties and that a signing was only days away.

The outline would extend the ceasefire, reopen the Strait of Hormuz and start 60 days of nuclear talks.

Tehran was more guarded, with a Revolutionary Guards-linked agency saying no text had been agreed and officials citing no final decision.

Trump has predicted a deal more than thirty times. The U.S. naval blockade stays until any signing.
