Trump: I Don't Know Casey Means, RFK Jr. Recommended Her

President Donald Trump on Thursday said the decision to nominate Dr. Casey Means as U.S. surgeon general came largely at the recommendation of Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., admitting that he didn't know her. Speaking to reporters after announcing a trade deal with the United Kingdom, Trump said:

RFK Jr. thought she was fantastic. She basically wanted to be an academic more than a surgeon. I think she graduated first in her class at Stanford. Bobby really thought she was great. I don’t know her. I listened to the recommendation of Bobby. I met her yesterday and once before. A very outstanding person. A great academic actually. So, I think she’ll be great.
