President Donald Trump is setting a new standard for media accessibility, with even Politico calling him “just about the most-accessible president in modern history,” according to a recent episode of its Playbook podcast. White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt tweeted an excerpt from the podcast, celebrating the recognition.

Since returning to office, Trump has spoken to the media on 111 of his 138 days, an 80 percent rate that includes weekends, according to Politico's analysis. "He's basically taken questions from all-comers. It's impressive stuff," it said.

Politico contrasted Trump's openness with President Biden’s more restricted press presence. While Trump had no scheduled media events for a second straight day, aides told Politico that his “executive order” session today at 2 pm might turn into one of his freeform Q&As.
