President Donald Trump on Monday ordered all air traffic controllers to return to work “immediately,” warning that those who remain off duty during the ongoing government shutdown will face financial penalties.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump called the current work stoppages a “Democrat Shutdown Hoax” and said controllers who “did nothing but complain” would be “docked” pay and denied severance if they choose to leave.

He praised those who continued working as “great patriots” and promised them $10,000 bonuses for “distinguished service to our country.”

The president said his administration is purchasing “state-of-the-art” aviation equipment to replace what he described as “antiquated junk” left behind by previous administrations.

His message, posted during a wave of flight cancellations caused by staffing shortages, comes as the Federal Aviation Administration struggles to maintain operations amid the prolonged funding lapse.

Trump ended his post with: “Report to work immediately. God Bless America.”
