Trump Orders Declassification Of Crossfire Hurricane Files

President Donald Trump signed an executive order on Tuesday to declassify materials related to the FBI's Crossfire Hurricane investigation. The move follows Trump's commitment to transparency on sensitive government matters, previously demonstrated with the release of JFK assassination files.

The Crossfire Hurricane investigation began with a discredited dossier from former British intelligence officer Christopher Steele, commissioned by Hillary Clinton’s campaign. This dossier was used to secure surveillance warrants against members of Trump’s campaign.

Despite the investigation's growth, it ultimately collapsed, with Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s testimony before Congress marking its anticlimactic end. Trump's declassification order aims to shed more light on the controversial inquiry into alleged Russian interference in the 2016 election.
