President Donald Trump has accused CBS and its flagship program 60 Minutes of unlawfully manipulating an interview with former Vice President Kamala Harris, calling it a case of election interference. In a Truth Social post, Trump claimed the interview, aired just before Election Day and during early voting, was “doctored” to portray Harris as more coherent than she was.
He alleged CBS and its parent company, Paramount, suppressed the full transcript until after his inauguration and only released it after being ordered by the FCC. Trump denounced the interview’s Emmy nomination as a “slap in the face” to honest journalism, branding the broadcast “fake, corrupt, anti-Trump propaganda.” He added that legal proceedings are underway against CBS, 60 Minutes, and its corporate owners. Trump said the incident exemplifies why Americans have lost trust in the media and called for those responsible to be held accountable in court.
