President Donald Trump on Tuesday slammed New York City’s Democratic mayoral nominee Zohran Mamdani, calling him a “100% communist lunatic” and warning that the progressive left is steering the country toward ruin.
In a fiery Truth Social post, Trump mocked Democrats in the wake of Mamdani’s surprise primary win over former Gov. Andrew Cuomo, suggesting they embrace what he called their “Low IQ” and “radical” wing.
He proposed a satirical presidential ticket led by Rep. Jasmine Crockett with Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and her allies in key cabinet posts.
“Added together with our future Communist Mayor of New York City, Zohran Mamdani, our Country is really screwed!” Trump wrote.
Mamdani, a 33-year-old Muslim socialist backed by the Democratic Socialists of America, won the primary with 43% of the vote. He has supported pro-Palestinian positions, drawing strong reactions from conservative leaders.
