President Donald Trump has filed a $15 billion defamation and libel lawsuit against The New York Times, accusing the paper of acting as a “mouthpiece” for Democrats and deliberately spreading lies to damage him and the America First movement.
In a lengthy Truth Social post, Trump blasted the Times for its “decades-long method of lying,” citing its unprecedented 2024 front-page endorsement of Kamala Harris as an illegal campaign contribution. He also pointed to the Times’ coverage of a note allegedly linked to Jeffrey Epstein, which Trump and his aides deny.

The lawsuit, filed in federal court in Tampa, claims the Times engaged in a “malicious pattern of abuse” against Trump and seeks at least $15 billion in damages. Trump’s lawyers highlighted previous settlements with ABC News and CBS News as evidence of media misconduct. The Times has not yet commented.
