The White House said Etihad committed to purchasing 28 U.S.-made Boeing 787 and 777X aircraft powered by GE engines. The deal is expected to boost American exports and manufacturing.
Trump, on a multi-country tour of the Middle East, framed the agreement as a sign of deepening U.S.-UAE ties. Etihad CEO Antonoaldo Neves recently said the airline plans to add 20 to 22 aircraft this year as part of a broader goal to grow its fleet to over 170 planes by 2030. The expansion supports Abu Dhabi’s economic diversification strategy.
The rest of Etihad’s 2024 fleet additions will include Airbus A321LRs and A350s, along with four Boeing 787s.
